Editing a Sequence File

There are two ways to access the sequence file editing function:

• Clicking the stored sequence file's Edit button on the My Files > Structures page
• Clicking the Edit button for an uploaded sequence on the History tab

Editing a Sequence File on the Structures Page

To edit a stored sequence file:

1. Click My Files, and then select Structures.
   
   
   
   
2. On the Structures page, click the sequence file's Edit button.
   
   
   
   
3. Make your edits to the sequence data, and then click the Validate button.
   
   Note: If the edited file contains multiple sequences or invalid characters/syntax, an error message displays.
   
   
   
   
4. To save your edits, click the Save or Save As buttons.
   
   
   
   If you click the Save As button, you will be prompted to enter a different file name.
   
   

Editing an Uploaded Sequence on the History Tab

To edit an uploaded sequence file:

1. Click the L-number Edit button.
   
   
   
   
2. Make your edits to the sequence data, and then click the Validate button.
   
   Note: If the edited file contains multiple sequences or invalid characters/syntax, an error message displays.
   
   
   
   
3. To save your edits, click the Save or Save As buttons.
   
   
   
   If you click the Save As button, you will be prompted to enter a different file name.
