Importing a Script

STNext enables you to import a .txt, .sc, .scb, .data script file in three ways:

Importing a Script from the Main Session Window

  1. Click the Scripts button in the lower right-hand corner of the page.

  2. Under New Script, click the Import button.

  3. In the Import Script pop-up window, click the Browse button, select the script file to import, and then click the Open button.

  4. The name of the selected script file displays in the Import Script window; click the Ok button to import the file.

    Important: If you attempt to import a script that has the same file name as a script already in My Files, you have the option to overwrite the existing file with the file being imported (Replace) or Rename the file being imported.

  5. Click the Scripts button again to display the imported script.

    Note: If the imported file contains invalid commands, characters, or syntax, an error or warning message displays, and the Run button is inactive.

Importing a Script, Biosequence Script, or Data File on the Scripts Page

  1. Click My Files, and then select Scripts.

  2. On the Scripts page, click the Import Script button.

    In a script folder, click the ellipsis (...) icon, and then select Import Script.

  3. In the Import Script pop-up window, click the Browse button, select the script file or files (up to 10) to import, and then click the Open button.

    Note: Press Ctrl while clicking to select multiple files.

  4. The name of the selected script file(s) displays in the Import Script window; click the Pencil icon to edit the file name or the Trash icon to delete the file from the list. Click the Ok button to import the file(s).

    Important: If you attempt to import one or more scripts that have the same file names as scripts already in My Files, you have the options to overwrite the existing files with files being imported (Replace All, Replace), Skip importing the file, or Rename the file being imported.

  5. The imported script file now appears on the Scripts page.

    Note: If the imported file contains invalid commands, characters, or syntax, an error or warning message displays.

    If the imported script is a .data file, it is visually distinguished by special icon. Sequence scripts are denoted by a double-helix icon.

Importing a Script from the Create Script Window

  1. Click My Files, and then select Scripts.

  2. On the Scripts page, click the Create New button, and then under Editor, select Script.

  3. In the Create Script pop-up window, click the Import Script(s) and Datafile(s) icon.

  4. In the Import Script pop-up window, click the Browse button, select the script file to import, and then click the Open button.

  5. The name of the selected script file displays in the Import Script window; click the Ok button to import the file.

    Important: If you attempt to import a script that has the same file name as a script already in My Files, you have the option to overwrite the existing file with the file being imported (Replace) or Rename the file being imported.

  6. The script now appears in the Create Script window where you may save to My Files > Scripts or run.

    Note: If the imported file contains invalid commands, characters, or syntax, an error or warning message displays under Validation.
